Community-Building
Community
organizing has been a key part of Bethel from the start. The
department's original name, Neighborhood Organizing, was changed to
Community Organizing for Reneighboring (COR) in January 1996, and
was changed to Community Building in 2001. Today, Community Building
serves over 1,000 residents yearly, and is currently helping
contribute to:
- Smart Growth Initiatives
- Voter's Registration
- School Reform Advocacy
- Legislative Sharing Initiative
Community
Building also facilitates the Youth Enterprise Network (YEN), a
program where teachers are trained to teach entrepreneurship
skills to their students.
