Since 1985, Bethel Employment Services has placed seven thousand residents in jobs and has provided customized training programs to many businesses. The addition of the Health Care Career Ladder grant paved the way to a $2.7 million Welfare-to-Work grant from the Department of Labor in 1998. Today, BES serves around 3,000 participants yearly from diverse backgrounds, including dislocated workers, TANF clients, incumbent workers, Empowerment Zone residents, and the Formerly Incarcerated.
